Ms Jan is awesome! The hostel environment is so peaceful and friendly. The newly renovated kitchen is awesome and the patio and courtyard is without comparison I've watched as the owner handled disgruntled guests with grace even when they didn't pay on time, disregarded check out times and stole from other guests..she's amazingShe opened her hostel to hikers and evacuees during the fire; free of charge..it's just a special and magical place...highly recommend!!
This hostel is very affordable if you just want a bed. Towels, laundry and extra blankets are extra. Silverton is a neat little touristy mountain town and the Blair Street Hostel gave us a way to enjoy it without breaking the bank. The place could certainly use some work though. The showers were very cold and the roof was leaking in our room.
Very clean, great views, friendly owner. I didnt want to leave. Ill will be back :)
Jan, the owner, is a chill cat. She runs a quaint little hostel in a rural town thats right next to Avalanche Brewery. Its great for weekenders and CT through-hikers. It has a full kitchen thats really useful and the showers and bathrooms work well. Some of the floors are a creeky but I chalk that up to the nostalgia for a mining town.
Jan is awesome! She provides exceptional hospitality, clean accommodations, and great conversations. Cant wait to go back!
