Update-August 2018: This time the whole family experienced something paranormal! First a member of our party saw a solid apparition pass by the mirror in the bedroom vanity. Later, toiletries were knocked off the bathroom shelf followed by a loud banging on headboard at 3 am. We like to stay on the third floor because we like to soak in the tub after a long day of hiking. If you want a more restful night, consider staying on the second floor. But if you want to experience paranormal activity, chose the third floor. Nothing malicious, just spirits trying to get a little attention!June 2018:Stayed here a year ago and revisited this summer. Staff always very nice, rooms comfortable with lots of history! Members of our party claimed to see a smoky apparition at night! Drive to Silverton from Durango was spectacular!
Menu is limited. But for a small town, the service was wonderful. Food was fast and yummy. Very quaint and inviting. Enjoyed a lovely lunch with my family
Great historic hotel in the heart of everything. Our room was clean and spacious. Updated bathroom. No coffee in the room but several coffee shops/breakfast joints close by. Very comfortable beds.
This is my favorite restaurant in Silverton. I love the old west saloon feel. The wood bar work is truly a piece of art. The pianist (can't remember her name) is incredibly talented. The wait staff are friendly, helpful, and quick. Their menu is pretty short and simple but the food is amazing and the portions are great- I always end up taking some home. If they are not busy, the food comes out surprisingly fast. My last visit I ordered "prospector pickles", which are breaded and fried dill pickle spears. They had a great flavor but they were cold inside. Not sure if they were supposed to be cold but defining reduced the enjoyment. Parking is the only issue I have with this place, but that's just a generally issue in town during peak times.
We just had appetizers and drinks mid afternoon but we had so much fun chatting and listening to Lacey play the piano. The woodwork in the bar is gorgeous, as is the view of the mountains out the humongous front window. Give it a try. You'll enjoy it as well.
