I like what they're doing with the place, but keep in mind they still have a way to go. It's a cool old building, in a cool old town, but Don't try to sleep here, you can hear the people in the next room whispering. The owner and staff are great. I guess this is where I say " it is what it is"... i would probably visit it again tho. Update: the Avon refunded me one of the nights we stayed there. They are great people that are very easy to work with. Thank you!
The staff were amazing. Laid back and easy going. Each adult gets two beverages from the bar at check in. The gentleman that checked us in showed us to our room. The room was very clean, the beds were very comfortable. The bathrooms were spotless and modern. The room we rented didnt have a private bath. We had to share with others on the floor which was not a big deal. This hotel took you back in history to experience what it would have been like in the early 20th century. Will definitely stay here again!
One of the most unique, but amazing places we have ever had the opportunity to stay! Our 3 little boys loved the room with the loft, while my husband and I had a lot of space in the room below with a king size bed. Atmosphere was phenomenal...loved the smell and the decorations were so fitting for a rustic feel! The staff was awesome, making you feel special and at home! Looking forward to see all the new, evolving changes of this cool place. My husband and I cannot wait to go back! We will definitely be staying there again.
One of the most comfortable hotels I've ever been in. It's not a normal hotel, it's a renovated historic hotel catering to folks who want to come play in the mountains. Spacious rooms with nice hardwood floors, comfy bed, good water pressure in the shower. Friendly owner who runs the place truly cares that the guests are well taken care of. I love the laid back feeling of the place and I love that it's not some boring chain hotel or lame place built as cheaply as possible. Lots of fun little bits of character and history here and coming soon a cafe, full bar, movie theater and music venue all under one roof!
What a wonderful way to step back in time. The staff at the Avon were wonderful. Anything we needed they got for us right away. If you are looking for a 5 star hotel this isnt for you. Facilities were great, bathrooms cleaned and stocked, beds were very comfortable. We had 4 in our room and we enjoyed it tremendously ! When back in Silverton I will stay at Avon again!
