They get two stars because they were friendly. We rented a room with kitchen and bathroom for 1 night. Paid $140. Rustic, old and a little rough around the edges. But why the 2 stars only you ask? In the morning when we got up we discovered skid marks (aka POOP) on the sheets of one bed. See picture below. When we told the owner, she sort of shrugged and said "the people before you must have made up the bed before they checked out and so the cleaning people didn't change the sheets! EWWWWWW! No apologies no compensation....nothing. 2 STARS is generous.
Friendly folks, beautiful setting and very clean. Our first jeep rental was from them. Thanks to their guidance we had a great time,
We had stayed in one of the cabins in the past and it was o.k.This time we had a motel room and it was terrible. Lighting consisted of three ceiling lights. One in the kitchen and one in each partial bedroom. There were no lamps, no bedside tables, no electric plugs by the beds. You could not read or plug in your computer and use it at the same time. At night for light you either laid in bed looking at the ceiling light or turned on the bathroom light and kept the door partially closed. The only useful plugs were, one in the kitchen and one at the TV. The TV was on a side wall perpendicular to the beds which made it hard to see while laying in bed. You can see this in one of their pictures on their website. When I complained at the front office, I was told that there was suppose to be one lamp. When I asked the lady to come look, she just said they did not have another lamp for the room, but would have the owner come talk to us. Nobody ever showed up. She also told me that she had been in motel rooms without a lamp and that she thought was acceptable. The two chairs in the room were small soft fold up chairs like you see around a camp fire. I was told that if I wanted to leave, my money for the second day was non refundable. We forfeited our money and left.
The cabins were great and we enjoyed having a private bath, as opposed to past cabin rentals in Colorado, where we used used community showers/toilets. The staff was friendly and the price was great. Several members of our family (small children included) suffered from splinters throughout our visit. These were acquired from picnic tables, railings, and even the floor of our cabin. This was our biggest problem. The full sized sheets were ill fitted and came off our bed nightly, so it may be worth it to bring your own. The twin sheets were fine. We rented a Jeep on two occasions and it was a great experience.
Had a great 5 day trip here. Owners are fantastic. Camp Host (Ray) is one of the nicest gentleman we have met. We have a triple axle toy hauler, sites have plenty of room. Easy access to OHV trails. Well definitely be back. Great times. Carlls
